Millets can be difficult to cook, but with little preparation you can cook and enjoy the wholesome meal.
Soak Bajra (pearl Millet) Overnight. Drain water and roast them slightly to remove the water for easy storage. Well roasted bajra can last upto good 9 months if kept properly in a cool and dry place.
Cut vegetables of your choice-carrot, beans and add them in cooker along with roasted bajra. Add spices and salt as per taste. Cook for 10-15 min as per roasting to get a wholesome meal filled with goodness of millets and vegetables. Keep the excess roasted bajra for other uses.
Apart from khichdi, a delicious kheer, multigrain roti can also be made with the millets.
