What Are Millets
Millets are cereal crops and small seed grasses, which are widely used in African and Asian countries. Since ages, these small crops were used for human consumption as well as a fodder for animals.
Jowar, Bajra, ragi, Kodo , Kangani, Barnyard, Little all are millets which can be grown in dry and very less water. What great is that these grains are generally grown organically.
Millets have long been a neglected grain but now with UN declaring 2023 as the year of millets and with a great push from GOI on ready to eat Millets, the awareness on the health benefits of these grains is set to rise.
Millet based products are set to make in roads on the tables on urban India.
The millets market is set to grow from its current market value of more than $9 billion to over $12 billion by 2025. Favorable government initiatives to proliferate the global millets market size over 2019-2025”.
